The Person Behind the Lens
Janae is a twenty-one year old college student who takes too many pictures and tends to talk a little bit too loud. Her photography journey began at just eight years old and she first began shooting for her business, Jelli Bee Photography, in 2010. She is studying Communication and Educational Media at James Madison University. After Graduation, she hopes to travel and work in the activities department on a cruise ship. Then, once she settles down, she hopes to work for Buzzfeed News or Disney. However, Janae has always had a passion for photography and will continue to be a Photographer on the side of whatever career she ends up at.
Since Jelli Bee Photography emerged, she's won multiple awards, some of which were:
3rd Place- Art on the Square High School Exhibition
Ebsen's Choice Award- Belleville, IL's Historical Society's Photography Contest
3rd Place- Fellow Photographer's of St. Clair County Photo Critic
Her work has been featured in three different Literary Art Journals:
Page One six times, Calliope four times, and Gardy Loo three times. Winning multiple awards for her photographs in Page One.
Janae has been a member of Viewbug.com since 2014. Since joining, she has won six awards, 90+ peer awards, and her photos have been ranked top class in 86 separate contests. Her work has also been featured in a post on the website's Behind the Lens blog. In fall 2016, she was asked to be a curator for the site; a team only 10% of members are asked to join.
When Janae isn't clicking away on her camera she's most likely day dreaming about Australia, studying, editing YouTube videos, watching movies, volunteering, or petting her strangely fluffy cat.
